Kala the Arts has recently launched a new professional performing company called Lasya Dance.  Lasya Dance uses inspirational contemporary work drawing from classical Odissi dance movements to create a new, graceful and bold dance aesthetic. The companies work is to push traditional forms to new and rich conceptual ideas, choreographies for an international audience/community.  During the summer the quartet  showcased its new work Beyond Boundaries  at events throughout the region including the World Party in Eastrop Park on 2 July. Commissioned by Anvil Arts, Beyond Boundaries is part of the touring repertoire.
