KALA THE ARTS 25 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

We would like to thank everyone who was able to come and join us to help celebrate Kala The Arts 25 Year Anniversary of successfully creating, developing and promoting South Asian Dance and Music in Hampshire and beyond at the Haymarket.
Major part of the programme was Choreographed and curated by the artistic Director Sushmita Pati, there was a professional production with lead artists from the country performing Sounds of the Earth. The choreography also included a senior Kathak student of KTA. Students sharing their journey with professional artists. Also the Odissi students performed two choreographic work some traveled from Manchester. Kathak student dancers from Kala The Arts took centre stage with musicians included an unsual instrument Taus, The little Tabla students joined their teacher.
It included a solo work of Sushmita celebrating her journey with a film - It was a very successful evening and a really good showcase for the company’s work. Twenty-five years is a great achievement! I enjoyed your eloquent solo dance too. Matthew Clever - CEO Anvil Arts
The show ended with a really great band singing and our amazing Quartet.
And we would also like to thank everyone who has been a part of Kala’s journey over the past 25 years. Thank you Arts Council for the funding and Anvil Arts partnership.
