Roundabout Basingstoke
In 2010 the dancers from Prashanti, Kala The Arts' youth group and Choreographer Sushmita Pati created a new performance as part of Roundabout Basingstoke which was performed at The Anvil with 130 live musicians.
Roundabout Basingstoke follows the story of Polly who is trying to get herself to Winchester to have her baby - but on the way she encounters the many roundabouts of Basingstoke. It was performed on 22nd and 23rd May 2010 and is a Community Opera created by Martin Read and Philip Sealey. The show, was directed by Ed Simpson with Alice Farnham as Musical Director, and followed a promenade idea of staging with the action starting outside The Haymarket Theatre and the audience following on inside as the story progressed.
